Township of Readington, New Jersey

2nd Quarter Tax Payment Info

Second quarter 2020 property tax payments are currently due on Friday, May 1, 2020 with a grace period to Monday, May 11th. To date, the State has not authorized an extension of the grace period for more than ten (10) days.

The following options are available, should the Readington Township Municipal Building remain closed to the public when property taxes are due:

1. Online at https://www.readingtontwpnj.gov/pay-online-taxes. A receipt will be emailed once the transaction is completed.
     (a) Payments can be made via ACH payment by entering your bank routing number and account number. This service is free.
     (b) If you choose to pay via credit card, a convenience fee of 2.5% is applied.

2. U.S. Mail – payments must be received in the office by the grace period date (May 11th). Postmark dates are not accepted. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like a receipt mailed to you.

3. Lockbox located outside of the Municipal Building entrance door. Place your payment in a sealed envelope marked “Tax Collector.” Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like a receipt mailed to you. The lockbox is checked by staff daily, but cash payments are strongly discouraged at this time.

4. If a cash payment is your only option, please call 908-534-9761 to schedule an appointment for an in-person payment.

Reminder: Cancelled checks serve as a valid receipt.
